In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Schirmmütze für einen Offizier Panzergrenadier). An extremely well-preserved Heer Panzergrenadier Officer’s visor cap, constructed of field-grey wool with a subtle whipcord weave. It features reinforced side walls lined on the exterior with a smooth dark green wool cap band. Both the top and bottom edges of the band are trimmed with meadow-green piping, while an additional length of identical piping surrounds the outer edge of the crown. Pinned onto the peak is an aluminum insignia consisting of a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 65 mm (w) x 25 mm (h) and retaining all reverse attachment prongs. Directly below the eagle, the centre of the cap band has an additional insignia in the form of a padded dark green wool backer bearing an aluminum tri-colour cockade situated within a silver aluminum wire oak leaf wreath, measuring 65 mm (w) x 40 mm (h). The lower edge of the cap band is flanked by pebbled magnetic metal buttons which accommodate a chinstrap constructed of multiple rows of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire. A protruding vulcanfibre visor completes the exterior features, and is finished in black on the obverse and in light brown on the reverse. The interior is encompassed by a multi-piece beige rayon liner, while the walls are surrounded by a wide light brown leather sweatband. The crown retains a transparent plastic moisture guard which bears a partially-legible maker’s mark of “GEORG SCHWERDT, BAMBERG”, while a slot set into the guard features a paper label bearing a size mark of “57”. The cap measures approximately 23.5 cm (w) x 28.5 cm (l) x 15.5 cm (h). Minor bending is visible to the crown’s reinforcement, while the interior liner demonstrates minor soiling consistent with wartime war. This high-quality example remains in an extremely fine condition.
