Germany. A Mixed Lot Of Militaria

(Gegenstände). A mixed lot of five items, consisting of:

1 An Imperial Hussar busby Totenkopf insignia, constructed of silvered bronze, the reverse retaining dual butterfly-style attachment clips, unmarked, measuring 92 mm (w) x 90 mm (h), with loss of finish evident throughout, in very fine condition.

2. A trench art-style lighter, consisting of a rounded bronze canister bearing a double-sided Heer belt buckle insignia design consisting of a central raised crown within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) and laurel branches, topped by a threaded lug, unmarked, measuring 50 mm in diameter, missing its ignition wheel and wick, in very fne condition.

3. A First Austrian Republic trench lighter, constructed of a repurposed wartime cartridge shell and retaining a fuctional ignition wheel, maker marked “IMCO, FÖHN” for the firm of Julius Meister, with an additional mark of “MADE IN AUSTRIA” and an Austrian patent number, measuring 78 mm in length (exclusive of suspension loop), in very fine condition.

4. A German Field Honour Badge, constructed of silvered and gilded bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, bearing a central oval plaque featuring a raised Heer soldier in full field kit, within a pebbled and gilded border, functioning as the centrepiece of a Cross Pattée with white enameled arms and with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the reverse with a barrel hinge and hairpin-style vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, bearing an etched inscription of “DEUTSCHE FELD EHRENZEICHEN, HAMBURG 11”, measuring 54.27 mm (w) x 64.28 mm (h), weighing 31.6 grams, an uncommon variant in extremely fine condition.

5. A Christmas 1914 Allied trench art box, constructed of two pieces of brass on a swivel hinge, the lid bearing a central wreathed female profile flanked by initials “MM”, set within a border bearing the names of Allied nations (British Empire, France, Russia, Belgium, Serbia, Montenegro, and Japan) joined together at the bottom by an inscription of “CHRISTMAS 1914”, unmarked, measuring 130 mm (w) x 85 mm (l) x 28 mm (h), with some oxidation evident, in near extremely fine condition.
