Germany, Third Reich. A Rare 1933 Free City of Danzig Motor Rally Participant’s Plaque

(Frei Stadt Danzig Teilnehmerplakette Ostland Treue Fahrt 1933). Constructed of patinated bronze, the obverse bearing a raised depiction of St. Mary’s Church, overlaid by the coat of arms of the Free City of Danzig, itself flanked by a date of “29. VIII. 1933”, circumscribed by inscriptions of “OSTLAND TREUE FAHRT” (“OSTLAND LOYALTY RALLY”) and “SENAT DER FREIEN STADT DANZIG” (“SENATE OF THE FREE CITY OF DANZIG”), perforated with three holes for rivet attachment, unmarked, measuring 9 cm in diameter, demonstrating loss of finish and minor surface oxidation throughout, with one rivet hole demonstrating failure to puncture, a rare example in very fine condition.
