(Eine Privatangestellte Reichsministerium für die besetzten Ostgebiete für Vertreter des Generalkommissars Dienstjacke). A private-purchase tunic belonging to a Vertreter des Generalkommissars of the Reich Ministry of the Occupied Eastern Territories, constructed of a fine quality cotton-rayon whipcord blended fabric, with a turned-down pleated collar, decorated with a brown wool upper, both sides with collar tabs constructed of red doeskin wool, featuring four sets of gilt silver-aluminum bullion oak leaf twigs and matching twisted gilt aluminum bullion piping on all four sides of the exterior, measuring 45 mm (l) x 65 mm (w). Along the exterior of the collar is twisted gilt aluminum bullion wire piping with matching piping along the cuffs of both sleeves. The tabs are flanked on either side on the shoulders by a pair of blank sewn-on shoulder straps that are secured to the tunic via a single gilded button, the obverse depicting a national eagle with out-stretched wings clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. This tunic has a total of four pleated pockets, two at the waist and two on the breast. All are secured shut via a flap and a matching gilt button. The front of is secured shut via a series of four large vertically-mounted matching gilt buttons, that are met by reinforced buttonholes on the opposing side. The first buttonhole at the top has the ribbon for a War Merit Cross 1939 Second Class weaved through and sewn to the inside of the lapel. The body of the interior is completely lined with soft rayon material while the sleeves are lined with striped fabric. The tunic is tailor-made, as demonstrated by the maker-mark “Rothammer, Civil u. Uniform, Straubing” on the left flap of the interior. Directly above it is a horizontal-slit interior pocket, with the addition of a dagger suspender sewn directly beside it to the armpit of the interior liner. The tunic measures approximately 42 cm across the shoulders (seam to seam), with a sleeve length of 63 cm, and an overall body length of 80 cm. A fine quality tunic in overall near mint condition.
