In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

                          Description
(Deutsches Jungvolk Diensthemd für Bann 536). An extremely well-preserved DJ service shirt, constructed of khaki-tan cotton/rayon blended cloth. It features a turned-down collar with a partially-gilded aluminum edelweiss insignia stitched onto the right side, measuring 26 mm (w) x 52 mm (l), in a style typical of Austro-Bavarian HJ personnel. The right shoulder is topped by a regulation single strap, constructed of black ayon and bearing a machine-embroidered white Bann number of “536”. Measuring 23 mm (w) x 100 mm (l), the strap is fixed in position with machine stitching at the outer edge and with a pebbled and grey painted button bearing a raised numeral “6” or “9” (Gefolgschaft) on the inner edge. Stitched onto the upper left arm is a district insignia consisting of a black rayon triangle bearing a machine-embroidered yellow inscription of “SÜDOST OBERDONAU” (“SOUTH-EAST UPPER DANBYVE”), situated within a border of identical application and measuring 85 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). Also stitched onto the upper left arm just below the district mark is a DJ general lower ranks insignia consisting of a khaki-tan rayon backer bearing a machine-embroidered red disc overlaid by a white Sig rune. Stitched onto the upper left arm is a rank insignia consisting of a dark navy blue wool backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey chevron topped by a pip, measuring 55 mm in diameter. A vertical slit set into each cuff closes with a brown bakelite button, bearing raised “DJ/HJ” marks, meeting a reinforced buttonhole to allow for flush closure or for the sleeves to be rolled up during field activities. Two pleated pockets are set into the breasts, both closing with identical brown bakelite buttons bearing raised “DJ/HJ” marks, in turn meeting reinforced buttonholes. Affixed to the left shoulder strap and left pocket button is a lanyard constructed of green and black rayon threading, indicating a position of DJ-Hauptjungzugführer. The shirt closes with three identical bakelite buttons on the right side of a V-slit meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left. All buttons on the shirt are marked on the reverse with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo. A partially-legible size and maker code is stamped onto the back of the collar in black ink. Otherwise unmarked, the shirt measures approximately 37 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 48 cm, and an overall body length of 74 cm. Demonstrating only minor signs of wear and fatigue, this complete and unit-attributed shirt remains in an extremely fine condition.
