In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Schirmmütze für Offiziere der Panzergrenadiertruppe). An extremely well-preserved Heer Panzergrenadier Officer’s visor cap, constructed of field-grey wool. The cap features reinforced sidewalls fully lined with a smooth dark green wool cap band. Both the top and bottom edges of the cap band are trimmed with light green wool piping, with an additional band of identical piping lining the outer edge of the crown. The wire reinforcement formerly maintaining the crown’s structure has been deliberately and carefully removed to give the cap a classic “saddle” appearance commonly preferred by Officers. Pinned to the peak is an aluminum Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 65 mm (w) x 26 mm (h) and retaining both of its reverse attachment prongs. Directly below the eagle, the centre of the cap band is pinned with a multi-piece insignia consisting of a tri-colour cockade constructed of aluminum with a red wool centrepiece, situated within an aluminum oak leaf wreath, measuring 68 mm (w) x 52 mm (h) overall. Pebbled aluminum buttons flank the cap band to accommodate a chinstrap constructed of multiple rows of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire, adjusted with dual sliding knots of identical construction. A protruding vulcanfibre visor completes the exterior features, and is finished in black on the obverse and in brown on the reverse. A wide brown leather sweatband surrounds the interior of the cap band, while the crown is encompassed by a light brown oilcloth liner retaining an intact transparent plastic moisture guard. Inset into the latter is a name tag bearing a typewritten owner’s name of “OBFÄHNR. G. MÜLLER”, with a Feldpost number of “11529”, indicating issue to the staff and personnel of Panzergrenadier-Regiment 159. Otherwise unmarked, the cap measures approximately 23.5 cm (w) x 25.5 cm (l) x 17.5 cm (h). Demonstrating only minor signs of fatigue, this superb and owner-attributed example remains in an extremely fine condition.
