(Nationalsozialistisches Volkswolfahrt Abzeichen). A mixed lot of five Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt (National Socialist People’s Welfare/NSV) badges, including:
1. A rare NSV Sisterhood (Nurse) Learner/Trainee badge, constructed of silver, the obverse bearing a central raised NSV insignia, circumscribed by an inscription of “NS SCHWESTERNSCHAFT” (“NATIONAL SOCIALIST SISTERHOOD”), the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, stamped with an issue number of “V 2568” and a silver content number of “800”, measuring 38.00 mm in diameter, weighing 24.5 grams, in extremely fine condition.
2. A rare NSV Sisterhood Nurse badge, constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, bearing a central raised NSV insignia, circumscribed by an inscription of “NS SCHWESTERNSCHAFT” (“NATIONAL SOCIALIST SISTERHOOD”), the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, stamped with an issue number of “51” and a silver content number of “800”, measuring 42.40 mm in diameter, weighing 34.1 grams, the catch has been replaced, in near extremely fine condition.
3. A Volunteer Nurse’s Association senior member’s badge, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 32.77 mm in diameter, weighing 10.7 grams, with minor flecking of enamels evident, in extremely fine condition.
4. A Volunteer Nurse’s Association member’s badge, constructed of patinated bronze with multi- coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 33.60 mm in diameter, weighing 14.6 grams, with minor denting and flecking of enamels evident, in very fine condition.
5. A Caritas Sisterhood membership badge, constructed of silver, the reverse with a clip hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a functional locking catch, maker marked “PREISSLER, PFORZHEIM” and stamped with a silver content number of “800”, measuring 42.14 mm in diameter, weighing 26.0 grams, in extremely fine condition.
