(Abzeichen und Insignien). A mixed lot of badges and insignia, including:
1 A Heer Driver Proficiency Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of magnetic steel, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a raise steering wheel set against a pebbled background, affixed with two attachment prongs to a field-grey wool twill backer, unmarked, measuring 42 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), demonstrating some surface oxidation, in very fine condition.
2. An Ordnungspolizei EM/NCO’s visor cap insignia, constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse retaining both attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 55 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
3. A German Equestrian Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a stylized belt and buckle surrounding a letter “S”, in turn situated around a mounted horse, the reverse maker marked “L. CHR. LAUER, NÜRNBERG-BERLIN”, measuring 42.05 mm (w) x 52.24 mm (h), weighing 15.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.
4. A small medallion, constructed of aluminum, the obverse bearing a raised profile of Ferdinand von Zeppelin, flanked by name, circumscribed by an inscription of “ZIEL ERKANNT - KRAFT GESPANNT!” (“DESTINATION KNOWN - POWER INTENSE!”), the reverse bearing a raised depiction of an airship flying against a Mainz skyline, circumscribed by an inscription indicating that the medallion was issued to commemorate the 1908 flight of LZ. 4, measuring 33 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
