A grouping of four Third Reich German medals, awards, and decorations, consisting of:
1. A Civil Faithful Service Medal in Silver for 40 Years of Service. (40-Jahre Treudienst Ehrenzeichen). Instituted January 30th, 1938. A Cross Pattée constructed of gilded bronze, on a fixed loop and ring for suspension from its period original ribbon featuring a horizontal pinback mount, the cross with pebbled arms joined through the quadrants by a circular oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central black enameled swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “Für Treue Dienste” (For Faithful Service), unmarked, measuring 41.3 mm (w) x 41.2 mm (l), weighing 22.45 grams inclusive of its ribbon, the ribbon is soiled with light patina from age and wear, in overall near very fine condition.
2. A Sudetenland Anschluss Medal with Prague castle medal bar. (Sudetenland Medaille mit Spange Prager Burg). Instituted October 18th, 1938. (1938-1940 issue). A round bronze medal, on a fixed loop and ring, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised date of “1. Oktober 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer” (“One People, One Nation, One Leader”), unmarked, accompanied by a Prague castle bar (detached, missing its prongs) and short modern replacement ribbon, measuring 32.1 mm in diameter, weighing 12.32 grams, in very fine condition.
3. A Medal for Gallantry and Merit for Members of the “Eastern People”, II Class in Bronze. (Auszeichnung für Ostvölker 2. Klasse in Bronze). Instituted July 14th, 1942. Constructed of bronzed zink, on a fixed loop and ring for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed starburst, bearing a central rosette set within a circular laurel leaf wreath, the reverse plain, measuring 40.0 mm (w) x 43.8 mm (l), weighing 24.15 grams, with some of the original bronze finish remaining, in overall near very fine condition.
4. An Iron Cross 1939 Second Class by unknown maker “32” (Eisernes Kreuz 1939 II. Klasse) Reinstituted September 1st, 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of iron and silver on a fixed loop and ring for suspension, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the ring marked “32” but it is not original to the award, and supplied by a full length period original ribbon, measuring 44.0 mm (w) x 44.0 mm (l), weighing 20.10 grams, the fixed loop at the 12 o’clock arm has previously been replaced and is not attached to the reverse of the cross leaving a small hole, with pleasant and even patina from age and wear, in overall very fine condition.
