Germany, Wehrmacht. A Medal Bar for Condor Legion and Second World War Service

(Ordensschnalle). A medal bar featuring three awards, including:

1. A War Merit Cross II Class with Swords, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms and with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse bearing a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed date of “1939”, without visible marks, measuring 49.05 mm (w) x 49.56 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

2. A Wehrmacht 4-Year Long Service Award, constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “TREUE DIENSTE IN DER WEHRMACHT” (“FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE WEHRMACHT”), the reverse bearing a central wreathed number “4”, without visible marks, measuring 29.98 mm in diameter, missing its branch-determining ribbon device, in near extremely fine condition.

3. A Commemorative Medal for the Campaign of 1936-1939, constructed of gilded and patinated bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, without visible marks, measuring 36.32 mm (h) in diameter, in extremely fine condition.

All suspended from a 95 mm-long bar with a magnetic metal core, horizontal pinback, and green wool liner, a medal bar issued to a Condor Legion veteran who later rendered meritorious service in the Second World War, in extremely fine condition.
