(Luftschutz-Ehrenzeichen, II. Klasse). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of aluminum, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a double-sided circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM LUFTSCHUTZ” (“FOR MERIT IN AIR DEFENCE”), the reverse bearing a central raised institution date of “1938”, unmarked, measuring 38.78 mm (w) x 44.00 mm (h), weighing 10.8 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a card stock frame, the lid bearing an inscription of “LUFTSCHUTZ-EHRENZEICHEN 2. STUFE”, the interior with a grey felt liner, unmarked, measuring 45 mm (w) x 100 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), demonstrating minor fatigue to the case, a scarce complete set in extremely fine condition.
