(Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps Teilnehmerplakette Reichswettbewerb für Saalflugmodelle Breslau 1940 mit Etui). Constructed of gilded feinzink, the obverse consisting of a diamond with a hollow top half, overlaid by a raised NSFK insignia trimmed along the lower edge with oak leaves, situated above an inscription of “REICHSWETTBEWERB F. SAALFLUGMODELLE, BRESLAU 1940” (“REICH COMPETITION FOR INDOOR MODEL AIRCRAFT, BRESLAU 1940”), unmarked, measuring 75 mm (w) x 80 mm (h), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux maroon leather exterior liner, the interior with a padded white rayon lid liner, bearing a maker’s mark of “AWES-MÜNZE, BERLIN S.W. ALEXANDRINENSTR. 14”, for the firm of A. Werner & Söhne, Berlin, circumscribing the company’s logo, with a fitted dark blue velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, measuring 90 mm (w) x 115 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue and loss of finish to the case and plaque, respectively, in near extremely fine condition, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Helmut Weitze on 10 September 2013 when last offered to the collector market.
