Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Coastal Artillery War Badge, with Cap Insignia

(Kriegsabzeichen der Marine-Artillerie mit Mützenabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, surrounding a central coastal artillery gun with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch emanating from a circular baseplate, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by a Lüdenscheid-based firm, measuring 41.48 mm (w) x 53.75 mm (h), weighing 21.2 grams, demonstrating near-total loss of finish throughout, in very fine condition; accompanied by a coastal artillery EM/NCO’s cap insignia, constructed of dark green rayon, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered golden-yellow Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 85 mm (w) x 38 mm (h), demonstrating minor soiling, in unissued and extremely fine condition.
