(Etui für Schirmmütze). An extremely well-preserved storage case issued alongside a Wehrmacht or SS Officer’s privately-purchased visor cap, constructed of a hardshell frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, both the base and lid reinforced with layer of light brown leatherette affixed in place with multiple rows of hand stitching, with an integral leather strap emanating from the back of the side walls and extending across the lid (held in place with dual blackened leather straps) to meeting a functional magnetic metal buckle stitched into the front of the side walls for a secure closure, opening to reveal an interior fully encompassed by a multi-piece white cotton/rayon blended liner, bearing a handwritten owner’s name of “KREMER”, otherwise unmarked, measuring 31 cm (w) x 18.5 cm (l) x 18.5 cm (h), demonstrating only minor material fatigue, a superb and high-quality accompaniment to an example of military Officer’s headgear privately commissioned from a hatter in extremely fine condition.
