In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Kriegsmarine Schirmmütze für Offiziere). A very well-preserved Kriegsmarine Senior Officer’s visor cap, constructed of dark navy blue wool. The cap features reinforced side walls liner on the exterior with a ribbed black mohair cap band. Both the top and bottom edges of the band are trimmed with dark navy blue piping, while an additional length of identical piping trims the outer edge of the crown. Pinned onto the peak is a gilded zink insignia consisting of a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 60 mm (w) x 25 mm (h). Directly below the eagle, the centre of the cap band bears an additional insignia in the form of a dark navy blue wool backer bearing a gold bullion wire leaf wreath surrounding an aluminum tri-colour cockade, measuring 65 mm (w) x 55 mm (h). The lower edge of the cap band is flanked on each side by a gilded metal button bearing a raised fouled anchor, in turn accommodating a multi-piece black leatherette chinstrap, itself adjusted with a functional blackened magnetic metal buckle. A protruding vulcanfibre visor completes the exterior features, and is topped by a layer of smooth dark navy blue wool, trimmed with gold bullion wire oak leaves along the outer edge. The interior is encompassed by a multi-piece dark blue rayon liner, while a wide brown leather sweatband surrounds the walls. An intact transparent plastic moisture guard is affixed to the crown, and retains a paper label bearing a size mark of “57 ½”. Otherwise unmarked, the cap measures approximately 26 cm (w) x 29 cm (l) x 16.5 cm (h). Demonstrating only minor signs of wear and fatigue, this Senior Officer’s cap remains in an extremely fine condition.
