In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Stahlhelm M42). A Heer M42 Stahlhelm, constructed of a single sheet of magnetic molybdenum steel which retains much of its original apple-green paint. Three rivets are distributed around the outer circumference for the accommodation of the interior fixtures, while the crown is also flanked by dual ventilation holes. A flaring skirt culminates in an uncrimped rim in classic M4 style. The interior retains a zink ring, held in position by the shell rivets, which accommodates a brown leather liner featuring eight fingers, each perforated with five ventilation holes and topped by an additional eyelet for the accommodation of a drawstring which has been lost to time. Two magnetic metal loops emulate from the sides of the ring and retain a partially-intact black leather chinstrap. Stamped onto the reverse of the skirt is a maker’s code of “HKP” indicating manufacture by Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke A.G., Lauter, with a shell size of “64” and a heat roll code of “3737”. Handwritten owner initials of “P.B.” are also visible on the liner. It measures approximately 24.5 cm (w) x 29 cm (l) x 14.5 cm (h). The Stahlhelm demonstrates issues consistent with age and field wear, include minor loss of paint and surface oxidation throughout the shell, the loosening of some of the rivets, and moderate material fatigue to the leather elements which includes the severance of the tip of the chinstrap. This untouched and late-war example remains in a very fine condition.
