Germany, Luftwaffe. A Desktop Standard Flag for Flight Personnel and Aerial Warfare Schools

Constructed of double-overlaid cotton twill with a rigid card stock interior reinforcement, trimmed along three edges with a silver-grey rayon fringe, the obverse bearing a dyed golden-yellow Cross Pattée with black borders, joined through the quadrants by black swastikas, overlaid by a central Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, in turn overlaying a circular laurel leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a dyed golden-yellow Cross Pattée with black borders, joined through the quadrants by black swastikas, overlaid by a central black Iron Cross, situated within a circular laurel leaf wreath, the hoist edge rivets to a black painted wooden pole emerging from a circular base, the pole topped by a spherical finial and retaining a matching banderole constructed of multi-coloured rayon threading, unmarked, the flag measuring 14 cm (w) x 15 cm (h), the pole measuring 39 cm in total height from base to finial, demonstrating minor soiling and material fatigue to the flag with sporadic loss of paint to the stand, a scarce example of a desktop miniature standard flag found in offices and schools associated with Luftwaffe Flight Personnel in near extremely fine condition.
