(Erinnerungs-Teller in Silber). A pair of commemorative silver plates to later-Field Marshal Ferdinand Schörner, including:
1. One Reichswehr-era plate, constructed of silver with scalloped edges, the obverse bearing a central engraved monogram of 19. (Bayer.) Infanterie-Regiment, situated above a date of “23. 11. 27”, surrounded by the expertly-engraved names of presumed Officers of the unit, the reverse bearing a crown and crescent moon indicating German manufacture, a silver content number of “800”, and a hallmark of “M.T. WETZLAR” for the Munich-based silversmith, measuring 21.5 cm in diameter, weighing 222.8 grams, dated to Schörner’s time as commander of 16. Kompanie of the unit and days before his wedding on 27 November, indicating a possible wedding gift, in extremely fine condition.
2. One Wehrmacht-era plate, constructed of silver with scalloped edges, bearing an engraved inscription of “3. ABTEILUNG GENERALSTAB DES HEERES 24. 3. 1936 - 11. 10. 1937”, the reverse bearing a crown and crescent moon indicating German manufacture, a silver content number of “835”, and the hallmark of Wilhelm Binder, Schwäbisch Gmünd, measuring 20 cm in diameter, weighing 157.3 grams, dated to Schörner’s time as a Group Leader of the 3. Abteilung (3rd Company) Generalstab (General Staff), in extremely fine condition.
3. A period-reproduced studio photo of Schörner, depicted in a General’s uniform and with the Pour le Mérite and Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross clearly visible, the reverse in unused postcard format and bearing an Agfa paper mark, measuring 8.5 cm (w) x 13.5 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
