Germany, Wehrmacht. A Rare Feldgendarmerie Gorget

(Wehrmacht Ringkragen für Feldgendarmerie). Constructed of a silvered magnetic iron sheet metal, the obverse bearing a central raised Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, situated above a patinated and pebbled banner bearing a raised inscription of “FELDGENDARMERIE” (Field Police), with the upper corners fastened with pebbled buttons, notably with all of these features retaining original intact luminous paint, the reverse retaining an intact grey wool liner, the reverse retaining two stabilizing clips and an addition loop featuring an original full-length neck chain, one stabilizer stamped with an “M” indicating either Kriegsmarine issue or manufacture by J.C. Maedicke, otherwise unmarked, measuring 16.5 cm (w) x 11 cm (h), an exceptionally well-preserved example in extremely fine condition.
