(Wehrpässe). A pair of Wehrpässe to notable recipients, including:
1. One constructed of a card stock binding with 52 paginated interior pages filled with handwritten and stamped entries, named to “ADOLF SCHWEIGER”, who was born on 1 June 1910 in Weissenbach, Austria-Hungary, entered Wehrmacht service in 1938 with 11. Kompanie, Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 138, later serving with Wachkompanie Perner and Sicherungs-Bataillon 668, who was promoted to Gefreiter on 1 November 1940 and Obergefreiter on 1 December 1943 in Lillehammer, Norway, and who received the War Merit Cross II Class with Swords on 20 April 1944, retaining a certified black-and-white studio portrait of the bearer, measuring 10.5 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue throughout and demonstrating erasure of the cover swastika to permit use as a post-war identity document, in near extremely fine condition.
2. One constructed of a card stock binding with 54 paginated interior pages filled with handwritten and stamped entries, named to “FRANZ GARTLER”, who was born on 16 November 1914 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary, entered Wehrmacht service in 1938 with Infanterie-Regiment 134, later serving with Infanterie-Nachrichten-Ersatz-Kompanie 44, Infanterie-Regiment 248, and Grenadier-Ersatz-Bataillon 480, serving on the Western Front in France and on the Channel Coast before being transferred to Eastern Front service, who was promoted to Gefreiter on 1 March 1940 and Obergefreiter on 1 December 1940, and who received the Infantry Assault Badge (11 June 1942), the Eastern Front Medal (1 August 1942), and the Silver Grade Wound Badge (20 April 1943), retaining a certified black-and-white studio portrait of the bearer, measuring 10.5 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue throughout, in near extremely fine condition.
