For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

The Soldbuch is dated to October 10, 1940. Measuring 102x142mm, fair condition with extensive scuffing and creasing of the cover, and substantial damage to the spine with period repair and stapling.
Footnote: Ernst Rösser was born in 1920 (the exact date is illegible) in Gräfendorf bei Gemünden am Main (northwestern Bavaria). He received his basic training in the Bicycle Replacement Squadron 73. Rösser served in the following units: Aufklärungs-Abteilung (Reconnaissance Battalion) 99, Infantry Regiment (later renamed Grenadier Regiment) 851, Grenadier Regiment 7, Grenadier Regiment 760, and Grenadier Regiment 726. He was promoted to Oberschütze on March 1, 1941, suggesting that he first began his service between March and September 1940. He was promoted to Gefreiter (Lance Corporal) on July 1, 1941. Rösser was awarded the General Assault Badge on December 10, 1941. His next promotion to Obergefreiter (Corporal) came on January 1, 1943. In December of the same year, Rösser was wounded by a Grenade Splinter to the right cheek. He received the Wound Badge in Black on December 26, 1943 and was admitted to a field hospital on December 27, yet released again the very same day. He was wounded again by a hand grenade, mortar, or artillery, and admitted to hospital on June 29, 1944, being released on July 5. On July 7, he was back in hospital with the same code, this time staying until July 20. Rösser had to visit the hospital again on August 17 for treatment of an eye disease. He was released the next day. Rösser’s bad luck continued on January 30, 1945, when he was admitted to hospital for frostbite. He was released on February 8. The day after being admitted, January 31, he was awarded the Wound Badge in Silver. Rösser was promoted to Unteroffizier (NCO) on February 18, 1945. He also received an Iron Cross 2nd Class at an unknown date.
