(Wehrmacht Insignien). A mixed lot of Wehrmacht uniform rank insignia, including:
1. A matching set of Luftwaffe Flak/Artillery Leutnant shoulder boards, each constructed of red wool with buckram cores and topped by four bands of silver aluminum wire piping, the reverse of each bearing a red wool strap perforated with a reinforced buttonhole, both unmarked and measuring 38 mm (w) x 110 mm (l), demonstrating minor material fatigue, in uniform-removed and near extremely fine condition; accompanied by a photo of the boards in wear, situated on the uniform of an Officer wearing a visor cap, the reverse in unused postcard format, bearing an Agfa paper mark, measuring 10 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), demonstrating the remnants of an adhesive consistent with previous album display, in near extremely fine condition.
2. A set of Kriegsmarine insignia, including a cap tally ribbon, constructed of black rayon, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered gold bullion wire inscription of “KRIEGSMARINE”, unmarked, measuring 3.5 cm (w) x 150 cm (l), demonstrating a stitched repair, in better than very fine condition; a cap eagle, constructed of gilded bronze, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 20 mm (h), demonstrating some bending, in better than very fine condition; a cockade, constructed of aluminum with a red wool centrepiece, the reverse with two attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 22 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition; accompanied by a studio portrait of the insignia in wear, featured on an Enlisted sailor wearing a dark blue uniform and Minesweeper War Badge, the reverse in postcard format and bearing a Rotterdam studio mark, measuring 8 cm (w) x 13 cm (h), with a large folding crease visible to the left side, an interesting memento from a Kriegsmarine sailor in the occupied Netherlands in very fine condition.
