(Die Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938 mit Etui, Verleihungsurkunde und Fotos). A matching award estate to Kanonier Friedrich Pannier, including:
1. A Sudetenland Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.18 mm in diameter, weighing 13.8 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock with a faux maroon leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilded German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a padded lid liner and slotted maroon felt medal bed, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), demonstrating minor tarnishing to the medal and material fatigue to the case which includes the loss of its catch, in overall very fine condition.
2. A matching award document, named to “KAN. D. R. (KANONIER DER RESERVE) FRIEDRICH PANNIER”, of “FLA. M.G. RES. KP. 492” issued in Münster on 17 April 1940 and certified by the handwritten signature of an Oberst and Commander of Wehrbezieks Soest, measuring 21 cm (w) x 15 cm (h), demonstrating some creasing and soiling, a scarce variation of this award document in very fine condition.
3. A group of nine prewar and wartime photographs, depicting Pannier and comrades in uniform, including depictions of assemblies and leisure time, notably including a large group photo showing an array of Luftwaffe Officers, NCOs, and Enlisted personnel, the reverse bearing a handwritten caption of “JAHRGANG 1935/1936, DÖBERITZ-ELSGRUND”, in overall extremely fine condition.
