(Luftwaffe Verleihungsurkunden). A lot of four award documents to Unteroffizier Heinz Lorenzmeier, including:
1. An award document for a Radio Operator and Air Gunner Badge, constructed of off-white paper with black ink, named to Lorenzmeier as a Gefreiter, issued in Berlin on 4 October 1940, featuring a facsimile signature of Generalleutnant Gustav Kastner-Kirdorf, measuring 210 mm (w) x 296 mm (h), with minor material fatigue and discolouration evident, in very fine condition.
2. An award document for a 1939 Iron Cross I Class, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, named to Lorenzmeier as an Unteroffizier of Kampfgeschwader 27 (“Boelcke”), issued at headquarters on 2 December 1940, featuring the handwritten signature of Generalfeldmarschall Hugo Sperrle (Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, 17 May 1940), measuring 139 mm (w) x 200 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
3. An award document for a Luftwaffe Honour Goblet, named to Lorenzmeier as an Unteroffizier in recognition of exceptional bravery in aerial combat, issued at Luftwaffe headquarters on 27 July 1942, featuring a facsimile signature of Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring and handwritten signature of General der Flieger Gustav Kastner-Kirdorf, measuring 210 mm (w) x 295 mm (h), with a central folding crease and minor discolouration evident, in very fine condition.
4. An award document for an Eastern Front Medal, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, named to Lorenzmeier as an Unteroffizier of Kampfgeschwader 27, issued on 30 November 1942, featuring the handwritten signature of an unidentified Hauptmann and Group Captain, measuring 140 mm (w) x 200 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: At the time Heinz Lorenzmeier served with Kampfgeschwader 27, the medium bomber unit was initially engaged in runs over France between May and June, 1940, which include missions over Dunkirk. Between the end of June and September 1940, the unit participated in the Battle of Britain, engaging in bombing runs over the United Kingdom, later participating in the The Blitz before being shifted to east in advance of Operation Barbarossa in June 1941. Although the document is not included, Lorenzmeier was a recipient of the German Cross in Gold (awarded 12 December 1942) for actions on the Eastern Front.
