The collection consists of several award certificates: the Anti-Partisan Badge in Bronze (144x213mm, better than fine); the Iron Cross 2nd Class (140x200mm, near very fine); the War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords (140x200mm, near very fine); the Wound Badge in Black (138x201mm, near very fine).
The Anti-Partisan Badge in Bronze certificate is named to Obergefreiter (Corporal) Zeissl of the 3rd Company of Jäger Regiment 749 for taking part in 20 fighting days. It is dated to June 1, 1944 and signed in blue ink by an Oberleutnant (Senior Lieutenant) and Zeissl’s company leader, the name could be Raan.
The Iron Cross 2nd Class certificate is named to Obergefreiter Zeissl. It is dated to March 27, 1944 and signed in blue ink by the Deputy Commanding General of the 68th Army Corps, a Lieutenant General, the name is illegible.
The War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords certificate is named to Obergefreiter Zeissl and dated to January 30, 1944. It is signed in black ink by an Oberleutnant and Deputy Battalion Leader, the name could be Juppe or similar.
The Wound Badge in Black certificate is named to Gefreiter (Lance Corporal) of the 3rd Company of Grenadier Regiment 749 for being wounded once on March 4, 1943. It is dated to March 20, 1943 and signed in black ink by the Regiment Commander, an Oberst (Colonel), the name is illegible.
Footnote: Grenadier Regiment 749 was established in October of 1942 and reclassified to Jäger Regiment 749 in April of 1943 in Croatia, where it was initially stationed. In June of 1944, it was redeployed to Greece, and in October to Serbia. By early 1945, it had withdrawn to Austria.
