In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Ordnungspolizei Offiziersschwert). A well-preserved Ordnungspolizei Officer’s sword, measuring 94 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 94 cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade which retains factory-original sharpening to both the tip and lower edge. A wide fuller runs the majority of the length of the upper edge of each side of the blade. The obverse ricasso is maker marked with the classic knight’s helmet logo of Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie, Solingen, while the reverse ricasso is stamped with an SS proof mark. The blade sits securely within a multi-piece hilt featuring a nickel-plated magnetic steel quillon and hand guard culminated in a flattened and ribbed pommel nut. An oak leaf ring of identical construction extends from the crossguard and transitions into a ribbed and black painted wooden handle grip, with the ribbing retaining an original silver wire cord. Accompanying the sword is its original scabbard, constructed of a black painted magnetic metal shaft. Nickel-plated magnetic steel fixtures are secured to both the tip and throat with side rivets, with the latter consisting of a knotted trefoil design and retaining a functional internal clip to hold the sword in place during storage. A loop and ring emanate from the shaft just below the throat for the accommodation of a frog and hanger, respectively. Minor issues consistent with age and wear are evident throughout, and include some running marks to the blade, scratching of nickel plating to the applicable fixtures of both the hilt and scabbard resulting in slight surface oxidation, and some loss of paint to both the handle grip and scabbard (the latter again resulting in some surface oxidation). This complete and untouched Officer’s sword remains in a near extremely fine condition.
