Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Long Service Award, I Class for 25 Years, with Case and Ribbon Bar

(Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei I. Klasse für 25 Jahre mit Etui und Bandschnalle). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1944 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse overlaid by a raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath bearing a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse overlaid by an oval medallion bearing an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLZIEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 43.14 mm (w) x 47.89 mm (h), weighing 26.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by a matching ribbon bar measuring 25 mm in length, both secreted within a period original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux green leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt number “25” within an oak leaf wreath, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and grey felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), demonstrating moderate fatigue to the case, in overall near extremely fine condition.
