Description

(Medaille des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes). Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Geneva Cross, the obverse with red enameled arms joined through the outer quadrants by a circular white enameled ring, overlaid by a central black enameled German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with details highlighted in gilt, the reverse of the cross featuring a pebbled finish overlaid by a raised inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE UM DAS DEUTSCHE ROTE KREUZ” (“FOR SERVICES TO THE GERMAN RED CROSS”), unmarked, measuring 38.15 mm in diameter, weighing 14.3 grams, demonstrating minor flecking to the enamels, in extremely fine condition.
