Germany, Third Reich. A Mint Civil Service 40-Year Faithful Service Award, by Deschler & Sohn

(Treudienst-Ehrenzeichen I. Klasse für 40 Jahre). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1942 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms joined through the quadrants by a circular oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central black enameled swastika, the reverse bearing a central inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 41.39 mm (w) x 45.96 mm (h), weighing 24.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original package of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, bearing a maker’s mark of “DESCHLER & SOHN, MÜNCHEN”, measuring 105 mm (w) x 130 mm (h), in near mint condition.
