(Reichsarbeitsdienst Gürtelschnallen). A grouping of of two Reich Labour Service belt buckles, consisting of:
1. A RAD Officer’s Belt buckle, of three-piece silvered zink construction, the obverse bearing a raised Reich Labour Service (RAD) insignia in the form of a shovel head overlaid by a mobile swastika, set within a circular wheat stalk wreath, the reverse with a clip and multi-piece belt loop, unmarked, measuring 48.7 grams, a “salty” example in fine condition.
2. A RAD Enlisted Personnel Belt Buckle, constructed of cast aluminum, the obverse is pebbled and bearing a raised Reich Labour Service (RAD) insignia in the form of a shovel head overlaid by a mobile swastika, set within a circular wheat stalk wreath, the reverse with a clip and multi-piece belt loop, dated “1936”, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (l), in very fine condition.
