(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of gilded tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, the pinback maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “4” for Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 38.68 mm (w) x 44.14 mm (h), weighing 33.6 grams, accompanied by a period but mis-matched presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, the former marked with an LDO insignia, with a slotted black velvet medal bed, unmarked, measuring 70 mm (w) x 70 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), demonstrating near-total loss of gilt finish to the badge with only trace amounts visible to low-contact points, with additional material fatigue visible to the case, in overall better than very fine condition.
