1. An Eastern Front Medal, constructed of silvered and painted zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse bearing an inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”), above a crossed sword and laurel branch, topped by a Stahlhelm and stick grenade, unmarked, measuring 35.98 mm (w) 44.79 mm (h), weighing 19.4 grams, accompanied by its original package of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the exterior bearing a maker’s mark of “RICHARD SIMM & SÖHNE, GABLONZ/NEIßE”, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), demonstrating near-total loss of finish to the base metal of the award, in very fine condition; also accompanied by its award document, named to Obergefreiter “KARL ZÖLLER” of Feldlazarett (Mot.) 620, dated 11 August 1942 and certified by the handwritten signature of an unidentified Oberfeldarzt, measuring 14 cm (w) x 20 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
2. A West Wall Medal, constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a double-sided oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the top and bottom by ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised pillbox topped by a crossed sword and shovel and a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR ARBEIT ZUM SCHUTZE DEUTSCHLANDS” (“FOR WORK IN THE PROTECTION OF GERMANY”), unmarked, measuring 33.34 mm (w) x 45.52 mm (h), weighing 13.6 grams, accompanied by its original package of issue, constructed of beige paper stock, the exterior bearing a maker’s mark of “CARL POELLATH, SCHROBENHAUSEN”, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), demonstrating near-total loss of bronze finish to the base metal of the award, in very fine condition; also accompanied by its award document, named to Tiefbauarbeiter (Civil Engineer Worker) “FRIEDRICH DANGLE”, a resident of Walsum, dated 30 May 1940 and certified by the facsimile signature of Otto Meissner, measuring 15 cm (w) x 21 cm (h), demonstrating some material fatigue, in better than very fine condition.
