Germany, SS. An SS-Standarte Germania Collar Tab, with Owner Photo

(SS-Standarte “Germania” Kragenspiegel für Mannschaften mit Foto). Constructed of black wool with a buckram core, the obverse bearing machine-embroidered silver-grey Sig runes, flanked by a number “2”, the reverse retaining a fully-intact cloth Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) label bearing a code of “34/36”, measuring 40 mm (w) x 55 mm (l), accompanied by a studio photo of the owner, depicted in the uniform of an SS-Sturmmann, with both the tab and shoulder strap Germania device clearly visible, the reverse bearing a brief handwritten dedication to the friend, naming the owner as “SEPP LICHTENEGGER”, with a date of 15 February 1939, measuring 55 mm (w) x 82 mm (h), a date-matching set (with this variant of the collar tab in use until the late spring of 1940), demonstrating minor soiling to the tab, in uniform-removed and overall extremely fine condition.
