Germany, Third Reich. An SA Military Sports Badge for War Wounded, Bronze Grade, by Werner Redo of Saarlautern, Type III

(SA-Sportabzeichen für Kriegsversehrte). An oval-shaped badge, constructed of bronzed zinc, the obverse center presenting a Roman broad sword pointing upwards, with a Wolfsangel-Rune superimposed over the hilt of the sword at the base of an elongated oak leaf wreath, superimposed over a swastika, the reverse with a barrel hinge, vertical banjo-style pinback, and flat wire catch, maker marked “RZM M1/100” for manufacture by Werne Redo of Saarlautern, measuring 47.3 mm (w) x 59.8 mm (l), weighing 24.14 grams, with nearly all of its original bronze finish worn off, with oxidation of the zinc on the bottom third of the swastika, in overall near very fine condition.
