(Deutsche Olympia-Ehrenzeichen 1936 mit Etui). Constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a central raised column overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, topped by Olympic rings, and flanked by a date of “1936”, the reverse bearing an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTVOLLE MITARBEIT BEI DEN OLYMPISCHEN SPIELE 1936” (“FOR MERITORIOUS ASSISTANCE TO THE OLYMPIC GAMES OF 1936”), unmarked, measuring 37.20 mm in diameter, weighing 20.3 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a light wooden frame with a faux white leather exterior liner, the lid bearing gilt Olympic rings, the interior with a silver-grey rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a depressed slate-grey felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 110 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), a consistent patina is visible throughout the base metal of the award and the case demonstrating some discolouration of the exterior liner, in better than very fine condition.
