Germany, Federal Republic. A Pair of Service Awards, 1957 Versions

 (Auszeichungen). A pair of service awards produced according to the regulations of 1957, including:

1. A 1939 Iron Cross II Class, of one-piece neusilber construction, on loop for suspension from its original tri-fold ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened core within a ribbed and silvered frame, the obverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, unmarked, measuring 42.62 mm (w) x 46.74 mm (h), in near mint condition.

2. An Air Defence Honour Decoration, I Class, constructed of gilded bronze,  on loop for suspension from its original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse overlaid by a circular ring bearing an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM LUFTSCHUTZ” (“FOR MERIT IN AIR DEFENCE”), the reverse bearing a date of “1938”, unmarked, measuring 39.57 mm (w) x 42.81 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
