Dagger with a polished nickel-plated steel blade, magnetic, with semi-sharp edges and a very sharp tip, designed with bevelled edges, along with dual fullers on both sides, number engraved "74052" on the reverse ricasso, with a leather washer, the blade exhibiting moderate contact marks from extraction from the scabbard and measuring 245 mm in length. The blade is embedded into the nickle-plated crossguard, the quillon having the traditional hook look, the ferrule incorporating the release button for the scabbard, butting the off-white celluloid grip with five ridges, finished with a pebbled nickel-plated pommel and measuring 355 mm in length. The accompanying scabbard with a black painted body, the nickle-plated chape with a snub-nose design on the finial, the obverse of the nickle-plated locket bearing the German Democratic Republic national emblem that features a hammer and a compass, surrounded by a ring of rye, the emblem above a shield with a cluster of oak leaves and an acorn, the side incorporating two oblong suspension rings, the scabbard measuring 277 mm in length with marks evident on the body and the locket, the body with wear present in the paint throughout. Accompanying the scabbard is a set of dagger hangers, the fixtures of which are in silvered metal, the straps in fine silvered bullion wire. Better than very fine.
