Prussia, Kingdom. An Order of the Crown, III Class Cross in Gold, by Wagner

(Königlicher Kronen-Orden). Instituted October 18th, 1861. (Type II - 1867-1918). c. 1916. In Gold, consisting of a Cross Pattée with white enamelled arms, the obverse bearing a central medallion overlaid by a raised crown, situated within a blue enamelled ring bearing the inscription “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) and arabesques, the reverse bearing a central medallion overlaid by a raised monogram of King Wilhelm I, situated within a blue enamelled ring bearing the institution date of “DEN 18 OCTOBER 1861”, the twelve o’clock arm topped by an integral loop with a suspension ring retaining a replacement blue silk ribbon, the bottom of the 6 o’clock arm marked “W” for manufacture by Wagner & Sohn, measuring 42.7 mm (w) x 45.8 mm (h - inclusive of suspension ring), weighs 12.63 grams, enamels intact, in better than extremely fine condition.
