(Heer Dienstuhr). A Heer serviceman’s wristwatch, constructed of a plated steel casing with a black dial, featuring hour marks 1-12 in Arabic numerals, with an additional 60-second stopwatch at the lower half, retaining all hands and the majority of its luminescent radium paint to both the hands and numerals, with a functional crown emanating from the side, the caseback stamped with a mark of “STAHLBODEN” (“STEEL BOTTOM”), a serial number of “277002” flanked by initials “DH” (Heer issue), notably surrounding a carefully engraved dedication of “CAMP BUCHENWALD 11. 4. 1945” indicating retrieval by an American serviceman from a Heer soldier or guard at the the infamous concentration camp upon its liberation in April 1945, with a replacement olive-drab canvas and brown leather strap, the dial maker marked “GRANA” for a prolific manufacturer of timepieces worn by personnel from all branches of the Wehrmacht, measuring 35 mm in diameter, the watch appears to be in a functional condition but should be examined by a qualified expert, better than very fine condition.
