Document printed in black ink on a moisture-resistant parchment, with individualized inscriptions in handwritten black ink, illustrating a line drawing of the French Trophy of Arms at the top centre, flanked by a line drawing of the obverse of the Hohenlohe House Order of the Phoenix at the upper left and the reverse of the order at the upper right, the document designed with the text in German on the left side and in French on the right side, divided by a vertical column of icons.
The document states that the Knight's Cross of the Hohenlohe Order of the Phoenix was awarded by Louis Aloysius, Prince of Hohenlohe-Waldenburg-Bartenstein, to Sieur Louis Victor Sanque de Jonquiere, signed in Paris on September 25, 1816 by three men, the Prince Grand Master of the Order, Louis Prince of Hohenlohe-Bartenstein, along with the General Commissioner of the Order, A. of T. Montuleuber at the lower left and the His Highness, the Secretary General Leroux at the lower right. Beside the signature of the Prince is a large red wax seal bearing the crowned coat-of-arms of Hohenlohe and secured in place by a slotted insert white leather tab support on the reverse.

The document measures 405 mm (w) x 304 mm (h) and has experienced some age soiling after over two hundred years of existence, along with two vertical fold marks and a central horizontal fold mark from storage, but shows no signs of tearing, the wax seal with some crazing but remains fully intact. Very fine.
