Germany, Imperial. A Signed Postcard of Felix von Luckner, “The Sea Devil”, with Period Frame

A signed period postcard depiction Korvettenkapitän Felix von Luckner, legendary commander of the commerce raider SMS Seeadler who earned the nickname "Der Seeteufel" (the Sea Devil) for his exploits in both the Atlantic and Pacific during the First World War, with von Luckner depicted in uniform and wearing an incredible array of medals and decorations, flanked by his wife, with the lower half of the image overlaid by von Luckner’s handwritten signature, notably situated within a period brass frame, the obverse of which retains an intact glass face and which is riveted with an Imperial German Navy-style crown, the reverse with a leatherette liner, with a retractable stand and dual loops for optional tabletop or hanging display, measuring 15.5 cm (w) x 12 cm (h), a superb wartime memento of interest to collectors of both naval items and notable figures in extremely fine condition.
