In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Brieföffner). A rare and high-quality letter opener, measuring 29 cm in total length. It features a 16 cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade, with a maker’s mark in the form of the classic knight’s helmet logo of Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie, Solingen visible on the obverse ricasso. The blade sits securely within a multi-piece hilt-style hand, with a gilded brass backstrap bearing raised arabesque imagery and culminating in a detailed lion’s head. Notable, a signet stamp emanates from the lion’s head and bears a clear monogram in the form of an elaborate coat of arms with a pair crossed swords topped by a German national eagle. The handle grip is composed of a single piece of ribbed bone, with the ribbing retaining an original twisted and rolled brass wire cord. Some issues consistent with age and use are evident, and include tarnishing and scratching to the blade, loosening of tang within the hilt, and some loosening of the signet stamp which doubles as a pommel nut. This superb patriotic letter opener remains in a very fine condition.
