Description
1. An Order of the Cross of Liberty, IV. Class with Military Decoration. (Vapaudenristin ritarikunta). Instituted March 4th, 1918. Constructed of black enamels and silver, on a loop for suspension from a Military Decoration, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse overlaid by a silvered swastika and bearing a central raised rosette, the reverse bearing a central impressed date of “1939”, unmarked, measuring 38.1 mm (w) x 41.8 mm (l).
2. A Commemorative Medal for the War of Liberty with Etelä-Suomi Clasp and Rose on ribbon for Gallantry. (Vapaussodan Muistomitali). Instituted September 10th, 1918. A circular magnetic iron medal, the obverse depicting a Cross of Liberty with dual arms wielding swords and the inscription “1918” at the base, the reverse bearing a Finish rampant lion, unmarked, measuring 30.2 mm in diameter.
3. A Winter War Medal with Karjalan Kannas Clasp and Crossed Swords on ribbon. Type III for Finish Soldiers. (Talvisodan Muistomitali). Instituted August 2nd, 1940. A circular magnetic iron medal, the obverse depicting a rifle marksman in the center, surrounded by a ring of Coat of Arms, with dual sword-wielding arms at the top of the medal and dated “1939-1940” at the base, the reverse inscribed “Kunnia Isänmaa” within a central wreath, unmarked, measuring 31.2 mm in diameter.
4. Medal for Battle of Helsinki. Instituted in 1938. (Helsingin Muistomitali), a circular silver medal, the obverse bearing the Coat of Arms of the City of Helsinki, the reverse with a central cross bearing a central upright-facing sword and the two dates “1918” and “1938”, on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon (the blue stripes on both sides of the ribbon have faded with slight traces of yellow remaining), measuring 30.3 mm in diameter.
A fine medal bar grouping of four medals, awards, and decorations, in overall near extremely fine condition.
