(Dannebrogordenen). Frederik VIII (1906-1912). In Gold, a lovely knight featuring a white and red enamelled cross, the obverse centre presents the royal cipher of Christian V, with the inscription GUD OG KONGEN (GOD AND THE KIND) on its arms, the reverse centre displays the crowned W, with the crowned F VI on the twelve o’clock arm, the dates 1219, 1671, and 1808 appear on the other arms, surmounted by the royal cipher of Frederik VIII surmounted by the distinctive Danish royal crown, measures 26.85mm (w) x 57.20mm (h – inclusive of cross adorned crown suspension), weighs 13.4 grams (including ribbon), enamels intact, accompanied by segment of the original ribbon, in extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by the original case of issue, red leatherette exterior with gilt detailing, the interior silk lid marked A. MICHELSEN, base is in red velvet with a recessed medal bed, measures 60mm (w) x 95mm (l) x 20mm (d), light scuffs and wear to exterior, remains in very fine condition.
