1. A Czech Volunteer Medal for 1918-1919. (Instituted 1938). A round bronze medal, on a fixed loop and swivel ring for suspension from its period original ribbon with dual needle pin, the obverse depicting a cross inscribed 1918-198, the reverse with the Czech coat of arms, a thorn branch and dated “MCMXXXVIII” (1938) in Roman numerals, maker marked “O.P”, measuring 35.7 mm in diameter, weighing 16.77 grams, in near very fine condition.
2. A New York World Fair Commemorative Medal for Czechoslovakia - c. 1939. A round bronze gilt medal, the obverse illustrating a helmeted soldier tied to two columns, with snakes wrapped around each column and topped by German helmets, swastikas on each column, a woman behind holding a baby and a child hugging the soldier around the waist, with various Czech iconic scenes in the background, engraver marked "ZVITEZI" beside the right column, reverse with the Czech coat-of-arms, inscribed "REPUBLIKA CESKOSLOVENSKA" and dated "MARCH 15, 1939" (German invasion of Czechoslovakia), measuring 38.2 mm in diameter, near mint. In its box of issue, marked "MEDALLIC ART CO. NEW YORK" on the underside of the lid, box also near mint condition.
