Croatia, Independent State. An Ante Pavelić Bravery Medal, Bronze Grade

Instituted 27 December 1941. (1941-1945 issue). Constructed of a bronze alloy, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of Ante Pavelić, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central raised Ustaše insignia, situated within a date of “10. IV. 1941”, and circumscribed by inscriptions of “ZA DOM SPREMNI” (“FOR HOME - READY”) and ZA HRABROST” (“FOR BRAVERY”), unmarked, measuring 35.22 mm in diameter, weighing 18.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating period repair to the suspension eyelet and a subtle patina throughout the base metal, in better than very fine condition.
