Croatia, Independent State. A Rare Order of the Crown of King Zvonimir, with Oak Leaves, by Gebrüder Godet

(Red krune kralja Zvonimira). Instituted 15 May 1941. (1941-1945 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Croatian Cross, the obverse with white enameled arms, all overlaid through the central by gilded trefoils, overlaid by a central white enameled medallion bearing a raised and gilded Crown of King Zvonimir, situated within a semi-oval oak leaf wreath executed in green enamels with gilt highlights, the reverse with two blasted rivets securing the wreath in position, with an elongated barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a rounded catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of an early (c. 1942) special variant manufactured by Gebrüder Godet, Berlin, measuring 51.92 mm (w) x 52.01 mm (h), weighing 30.4 grams, demonstrating minor flecking to the enamels, a rare German-made example in extremely fine condition.
