Austria, Imperial. An Order of the Golden Fleece, in Gold and Diamonds, c.1960

(Orden vom Goldenen Vliesz). Instituted October 1, 1429. An eye catching decoration, in 14K Gold (tested), an Order of the Golden Fleece, unmarked by likely of Rothe manufacture, the sheep, suspension, and arabesque are set with approximately 7.5 total carats of old European and rose cut natural diamonds, with a central 1.5 carat natural emerald in the flame-like suspension, measures 51.0 mm (w) x 80.2 mm (h), weighs 42.10 grams, worn on a modern replacement ribbon, in extremely fine condition. 

Contained in a red leatherette case, of a similar 1960s period, black velvet interior, likely set for an Order of Franz Joseph, white silk interior, measures 115 mm (w) x 175 mm (h), clasp not functional - case remains open, near very fine.
