A Maltese Cross constructed of gilded silver with white enamelled arms on the obverse and reverse, with fleur-de-lies between the arms of the cross, suspended from a large hollow swivel crown with bow suspension with red and white enamel shield, the reverse of the bow suspension features the small maker cartouche of TANFANI & BERTARELLI ROMA, enamels intact, 47.0 mm (w) x 106.7 mm (h - inclusive of suspension), weighs 69.74 grams including full length black neck ribbon, wear to gilt, enamels intact, extremely fine. 

Contained in the original case of issue, red leatherette exterior, with silk lid interior marked TANFANI BERTARELLI ROMA, with dark red velvet medal bed, measures 75 mm (w) x 170 mm (h) x 30 mm (d), functional hinge and catch, light wear, extremely fine.
