Instituted August 14, 1914. Military Division. In silver, a red and white enamelled cross, the obverse medallion features red cross on white field, encircled by the inscription PATRIA AC HUMANITATI, a green enamelled wreath sits atop the arms denoting military division, the reverse medallion bears the dates 1864 1914, suspended from the original white and red striped ribbon, measures 36.70 mm (w) x 48.1 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), small enamel chip on 3 o’clock arm, remains in extremely fine condition.
Original case, red exterior marked “Patriae ac Humanitati 1864-1914 K.D.”, interior marked G.A SCHIED, WIEN, measures 60.8 mm (w) x 110 mm (h) x 20.9 mm (d), in very fine condition.
